Wine time

Wine Time

Dancing. Moving. I am being so productive with my time at my house. I recaulked the bathtub and the kitchen sink. It looks amazing. I have started painting a sign that I had intended to complete months ago. It will have my business name on it. For Herbal things, witchy things, tarot, and medicine. In between PT exercises and applying herbal cream, I am icing my leg and finding new areas of my house to focus on.

I reorganized and decluttered my costume jewelry. I am a collector of unique and fun jewelry. I started to reorganize my altar area, where pictures of my father and other deceased loved ones live. Incense and crystals. I found an envelope of pictures of my dad and sat there looking at them, crying. I feel how much I miss him. And allowing myself to believe that he was there with me. Showing me he loves me and missed me, too.

This evening, my partner and I are spending the evening having some red wine and listening to music. He organizes and creates MTG decks, and I write, smoke herbal things, and pet the kittens. My leg is elevated and doing PT exercises often. The sun has set, and the end of Spring darkness has set in. The earth feels so ready to me to bloom.

I am eager to get the surgery behind me. So that I can be on the upswing of the healing process that allows me to get back to the things I love. But also this part of life, where I sit and wait another two weeks, is part of the healing too. I am meant to reduce swelling and also find full extension and general mobility in my leg. That's what allows me to have the best environment for healing.

Last time this happened to me on my left leg, I rushed this pre-surgery recovery. In my body, I felt strong and mobile. And I carried one too many things, down the stairs and slipped, collapsing again, tearing further. This was before I had had my MRI. Knowing now what it feels like to tear a ligament, I tore something then. Maybe more than the original injury. So this time, I am committed to walking slowly. And not rushing, even when my body starts to feel better. That's the danger zone. I will not have as much time between injury and surgery this time. Which I am grateful for.

On that note I am signing off. Going to hobble my way to the first floor from the third, and warm up some leftover Pizza. In the oven.

TBD...
